Kia ora tamariki, families, whānau, and the learning community of Pupuke Early Education Centre,
My name is Jenny, and I’m delighted to introduce myself as a permanent teacher in the Pukeko Room. I’m originally from South Korea and first came to New Zealand in 2008 to study. Since then, Aotearoa has become my home, and I now live here with my family. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and completed a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education at the University of Auckland.
My journey into early childhood education was inspired by my lovely son, who encouraged me to follow this meaningful path. Working with children brings me immense joy, and I am passionate about supporting tamariki in their learning and development. I’m committed to building warm, trusting relationships with children, families, and whānau.
I speak both English and Korean, and in my spare time, I love going on walks with my dog, listening to music, and exploring new places around Aotearoa. I also enjoy sharing aspects of Korean culture with tamariki whenever the opportunity arises.
In the Pukeko Room, I strive to create a calm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and confident to explore, ask questions, and try new things. I particularly enjoy incorporating music, dance, and sensory play into our daily routines to support learning through joy and creativity.
I believe that fostering curiosity and independence is essential for a child’s development. Every day, I learn and grow through my teaching experiences, and I’m dedicated to becoming an ever more thoughtful and professional educator.
If you ever have any questions or would like to share something about your child that might help us get to know and support them better, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m truly looking forward to working alongside tamariki, their whānau, and the amazing team here at Pupuke Early Education Centre.
Ngā mihi nui,
Jenny
